How does the carwash know I am getting the correct wash?

When you purchase your carwash, the computer outside sends the information to the computer inside. Once your gate goes up it puts your wash in the queue. A lighted sign at the entrance will show your wash just before you enter the carwash tunnel.

What is the average wait time?

Our carwash system is very efficient and the average wait time is approximately 10-20 minutes from start to finish.

Do I stay inside my car?

Yes! Our conveyor system allows you to stay inside your vehicle throughout the entire process. When you pull onto the lot, you will be greeted by our friendly staff who will assist you with your wash selection at the Auto Cashier so you never have to leave your driver's seat.

Do you provide any interior detailing?

No, we are an express, exterior-only car wash. We have found that this particular type of car wash model allows us to provide our customers with a fast, high quality wash every time.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes! We accept MasterCard and Visa as well as cash and prepurchased Car Wash 103 gift cards.

Are you a franchise?

No, we are a locally owned and operated car wash with two Kansas City locations: South KC at 103rd Street and Wornall Road, and Midtown KC at 3300 Main Street.

How often should I wash my vehicle?

Wash frequency depends on the climate and environment that you live. In Missouri and Kansas, it is important to wash weekly to remove pollutants in the rain, bugs, salt and mud.

Does my car need the undercarriage washed?

Washing the bottom of your car is just as important as the body. Road film, mud and salt all work against your car's muffler and shocks. Frequent washing keeps rust from getting started.

Is car washing environmentally friendly?

Yes, washing your car in a professional car wash is the best way to conserve water and protect the environment. By using state-of-the-art equipment and design practices, Car Wash 103 reclaims and recycles the water used in the wash process. This results in significant water savings over traditional commercial car washes or hand washing.

Washing your car in the driveway also causes the water to go into the storm drain. This drain is only meant for rainwater. The soapy wash water ends up in our rivers and lakes killing fish and polluting the environment. Car Wash 103 uses earth-friendly cleaning solutions. Our detergents are biodegradable and contain no phosphates or caustic solutions. At Car Wash 103, the dirt that comes off your car ends up as cover at landfills and recycled for use at asphalt plants.

How does Car Wash 103 work?

If you plan on visiting Car Wash 103 for the first time, please take a moment to read about how the wash process works. Ask a Car Wash 103 attendant you if you have any further questions.

How it works:

1. After you have chosen your carwash allow the uniformed attendant to direct you onto our conveyor.
2. When the attendant directs you to stop, leave your engine running and place your transmission in Neutral.
3. Take your foot off the brake and remove your hands from the steering wheel. Make sure your windows are closed, and enjoy the ride!

Once you have followed those steps, the conveyor will begin to pull you forward. An applicator arch then applies a presoak to help lift dirt and grime off of the painted surface, followed by a foam soap bath that covers your auto from top to bottom. Neoprene brushes gently scrub your vehicle's exterior, followed by a drying agent that helps the water bead up and drip off your automobile.

The final step involves our Air Dryer system, which blows air at over 100 mph to thoroughly dry the outside of your vehicle. Once our green "Go" light comes on, shift your transmission to Drive and slowly exit the tunnel.

Are there any vehicles you can't wash?

Because we are in the car care business, we want to wash any and all vehicles that come to the facility; however, because of our commitment to maintain a safe environment and provide the highest quality wash available, we do have some restrictions. It is a challenge to meet these commitments given the large variety of vehicle dimensions, shapes, and sizes. To ensure the safety of our customers' vehicles, and to deliver the level of quality we promise, we do place some specific restrictions on the vehicles we wash.

We cannot wash:

   •   Full-size vans
   •   Hummers and Hummer H2's
   •   Trucks with dual rear tires
   •   Open bed pickup trucks with fuel tanks, loose items, and debris
   •   Vehicles with tripod-style mirrors
   •   Trucks or vans with ladders or ladder racks
   •   Vehicles that sit too low to the ground
   •   Lifted vehicles that are too high, 87" maximum clearance
   •   Trucks with greasy fifth wheels
   •   Customized wheels or tires that are wider than 14"
   •   Recreational vehicles and campers or trailers

We will wash, but cannot guarantee the safety of:

   •   Power antennae that will not lower
   •   Antennae with any attachments such as flags, ribbons, ornaments, etc.
   •   Areas with previous damage such as loose trim, molding, loose or broken mirrors, etc.
   •   Non-factory items such as bug shields, flood/fog lights, deer whistles, etc.

If you have any questions regarding whether we can wash your vehicle, please ask one of our employees.
